The town of Woodford contains some 14,000 acres of the Green Mountain National Forest, and is almost entirely mountainous. The population is 414.
Woodford State Park comprises 398 acres located on a mountain plateau (2,400 feet, the highest of all Vermont's state parks) and surrounds Adams Reservoir. Several lakes and ponds surround the area.
The campground has 103 sites including 20 lean-tos. The heavily wooded area surrounds the reservoir and offers great camping opportunities. There are several hiking trails, including a 2.7 mile trail around the lake.
Woodford also has the largest Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST) snowmobile club in the state. The Woodford SnoBusters have over 100 miles of groomed trails enjoyed by not only snowmobilers but cross country skiers and hikers.
